Your saddle will need to be stored properly to avoid damage to the tree as well as keeping the leather in good condition. You can save some money by making your own saddle rack. Be sure the rack that you build is the right size and strength to support the type of saddle you have.

I have several of these 2X4 saddle racks placed in convenient places throughout the barn. When they are not in use, the rack can be hung from the eyehook - barely takes up any room at all!
The previous owners of our home left a large wooden armoire out in the barn when they left. I have since turned it into my "tack room". I secured a couple of the 2x4 saddle racks to the back of the armoire. My english saddles fit in it perfectly & it looks really nice too!
