I am wondering if you would have any suggestions how to stop a horse that paws and stomps on the ground whenever she is waiting for food or to be let in and out of her stall? It is really frustrating and we don't have any idea what to do!
thanks, Karla J.
Hi Karla,
I actually have the same problem with Milo. He gets sooo frustrated when he doesn't get whatever he wants the second he wants it! I think he associates the pawing with getting fed, so he does it thinking it will make the food appear.
I now wait until he is standing calmly and not pawing before I ever open his stall door to feed him or let him out. It has improved, but he still does it on occasion.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
Milo, my eating (& pawing) machine!
