Tip from Jamie in MI:

If you are looking for a good source for free local advice be sure to check with your Local Cooperative Extension office. They will be able to help you find answers to many of your questions - such as: What toxic plants do I need to look for in my pasture in this area? When and how do I reseed, lime or fertilize my pasture?  They are also usually involved in 4-H programs in your area - this can be a wonderful learning experience for young horse riders.

Great tip Jamie! I was involved in 4-H growing up and I agree - children (adults too!) can learn a lot from participating in 4-H clubs and programs. It offers a lot of great experiences, fun and new friendships too.
