From Donna in Central WI:
Tucker is my 2 year old gelding Walker/Appy cross playing with an inner-tube. Tucker is very inquisitive and not much afraid of anything. He is a thinker and has been easy to train so far. Tucker is going to be a tall boy, as his sire, General Gold was a 16.2 HH TWH.
"Partially deflated car inner-tubes make great horse toys in the paddock. My horses like picking them up with their teeth and toss them about. Tucker knows that he can tease Tom with them as Tom is afraid of them. The inner-tubes work great for desensitizing. I use the approach and retreat method, rubbing, until I am able to put them over their heads and put them around their necks. Rolling them under their legs, placing the tubes on the horse butts, and throwing them in the air are just many creative ways the inner-tubes can be used for training and fun."
