Tip from Melanie in MI:

If your horse likes stall toys or licks, a cheap alternative is to take a clean jug with a handle and fill it with some molasses. Poke a few small holes in the bottom of the jug. The molasses is so thick, not a lot will come out and it will keep them busy licking it trying to get more out. You may need to experiment with the size of the holes to find what works best.
