Instead of thinking of all of the ways owning horses can be a financial drain - maybe it's time to think how they could be a boost to your income!  Here are a few suggestions you might consider:

Do you have an empty stall or extra pasture available? Boarding a horse could possibly bring in some extra money.

Do you have a horse that you could lease? There might be someone interested in the perks of riding and showing who doesn't have the time to invest in total ownership of a horse.

Are you skilled at riding and showing? Consider offering riding instruction and lessons.

Do you have extensive experience in training green horses? Maybe you could help train horses for people who need additional help.

Do you have a flexible schedule? Maybe you could offer horse-sitting for horse owners while they go on vacation.
